Mike Wood Files to run for Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney
Troy — Lead Attorney for the law office of Michael L. Wood, Mike Wood has announced that he has filed to run for Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney in the 2018 election.
From Gainesville, Georgia, Mike received his law degree at the University of Tulsa, and has prosecuted hundreds of cases for both the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, and the Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney’s office where he also served as the felony domestic violence prosecutor and represented the Family Support Division. Mike represents clients in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County and Warren County where he also serves as guardian ad litem.
“The impact that true justice can have on someone, on a family, is extreme. It should not be taken lightly and should be guarded with fierce diligence.”
- Named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine – 2016
- Named National Trial Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 – 2017
As Prosecuting Attorney, Mike will pursue the harshest sentence allowable for criminal sex offenders and child abusers. He will work to establish a stronger sex crimes unit, fight for the reconvening of a drug court commission and use prosecutorial discretion to allocate resources to put violent offenders behind bars. While refocusing the PA’s Office on prosecuting serious crimes, he will seek alternatives to incarceration for minor infractions — dramatically reducing the number of prisoners held, saving tax dollars, and letting Lincoln County begin to heal.
